12 Reasons Someone Might be Afraid to Leave a Bad Relationship

When someone is in a bad relationship and is afraid to leave, there are reasons for their fear. It can be hard to go for many reasons, and it is hard for someone to understand if they have never been through it. It happens to many people, though, and you or someone you know might be in this position.

Even with resilience and strength, someone can find themselves in a bad relationship like this. The victim will love someone that mistreats them, even though they know they should leave. Leaving a toxic relationship is more complicated than it sounds, though, making it a tough predicament to be in.

Reasons Someone Might be Afraid to Leave a Bad Relationship

No one deserves to be in an unhealthy relationship, but it is harder to leave than one might think. Bad relationships can cause sadness, depression, self-esteem issues, and other problems that hinder someone’s ability to get out. If you want to understand why someone might be afraid to leave a bad relationship, these reasons might help.

afraid to leave1. They Think Things Will Get Better

It is easy for someone to imagine that their relationship will get better at some point. They fell for someone amazing, and admitting that the person they knew isn’t the same now is hard to do.

The unfortunate truth is that when someone hurts you, they are showing their true colors. It shows that they don’t value or respect you, and assuming they will change for the better will only hurt worse. When someone truly cares, they will not do things to upset you on purpose.

If you are in this position, acknowledge that you deserve better. Don’t waste your time on someone who willingly hurts you, either emotionally or physically. If someone you know is in this position, help them see that they deserve better.

2. They Hold onto the Happy Memories

Every relationship, even the worst ones, had happy moments at some point. The memories from the beginning of the relationship will sometimes keep someone in a bad relationship. They remember the times when their partner wasn’t toxic, and they hold onto that memory.

People are always on their best behavior at the beginning of a relationship. It is how they win their partner over in the first place. Once the toxicity and meanness come out, though, they are showing who they truly are.

So, even if there are happy memories between the couple, it won’t change things. Sometimes the victim in the relationship sticks around anyway, hoping for an improvement.

3. Patterns are Hard to Break

If a couple has been together for a while, they have developed habits together. These habits will be hard to break, even in the instance of a bad relationship. The habits cause the couple to become comfortable together, and the person who wants out becomes afraid to leave.

Even when they see that the relationship is negative, they seem to be more afraid of the unknown than staying. The habits that have developed will sometimes be an everyday, usual occurrence for both partners.

This could include places that they go to or the people that they see. It is hard to cut out your favorite places and your closest friends, so those things alone might make someone afraid to leave.

4. Their Self-Esteem Has Been Damaged

Unhealthy relationships damage a person’s self-esteem. Toxic partners will belittle their significant other and wear them down over time. Once that has happened, the victim in this relationship feels like no one else will want them.

They have had their self-esteem knocked so low that they are afraid to leave. The victim begins to feel like they are unworthy or undeserving of a loving, happy, and healthy relationship.

They may also be afraid to leave because if they try, their partner will make them feeling like they will be the ones to miss out. The mean partner will likely say the things they know will hurt the victim the most. Since their self-esteem is low, it is hard to make them see that their partner is the one losing out, though.

5. They are Blinded

Those in a bad relationship might be afraid to leave because they are blinded by love. They love their partner and seem not to see the bad things that they do. Even when the partner’s actions don’t match their words, the other partner sticks around.

They often believe that their love outweighs the bad and that partners stick together. While this is typically true for healthy relationships, it isn’t the case in a bad one. It is hard for a victim to see the differences, though.

6. They Want to Be Understanding

People have a desire to be understanding of others, especially of those they care about. They think that accepting everything about the person they love is the best thing they can do. Even with physical or emotional abuse, they want to be there to support their partner.

Another reason they may want to be understanding of their partner is that they want to be understood, too. It is a natural desire to want to feel understood, and that desire can make someone afraid to leave.

toxic people7. They Worry About Their Kids

When a couple has kids together, it can be hard to leave even when things are bad. They will stay together to avoid upsetting the kids or from fear of uprooting their lives. Parents want what is best for their kids, and it is common to believe that staying together is best.

Unfortunately, when kids are the only reason a couple stays together, it could make things worse. The children will see the dysfunctional relationship and begin to think that it is normal. When they believe that it is normal, it hinders their ability to be in a healthy relationship in the future.

8. They Want to Fix Things

When someone is in a relationship, it is natural to want to fix any issues that arise. Someone might stay in a bad relationship hoping that things will change, and they don’t want to give up on that idea. They often feel that if they love their partner enough, things will get better.

Unfortunately, that usually isn’t the case. It is hard for someone in the relationship to acknowledge that, though. Instead, the victim continues to convince themselves that everything can be fixed.

9. They Think It’s Their Fault

It is common for someone in a bad relationship to think that the problems are their fault. They might give all of their time and effort to the relationship and still feel like they are the one in the wrong. If their partner is a narcissist, they may have even been convinced that it is their fault.

No matter the reason, they may be afraid to leave because they feel like they are at fault. When the victim feels like they are wrong, it could make them feel like they owe it to their partner to stick around, even though that is not the case.

10. They Don’t Want to Be Alone

Since toxic relationships can knock a person’s self-esteem, they may worry they won’t find anyone else. They often feel like they aren’t good enough for a healthy relationship, so they stay in their bad one. If someone fears being alone, they will remain in a lousy relationship and continue being unhappy.

11. They Grew Up in a Toxic Environment

When children grow up in a toxic environment, they become adults that believe toxicity is normal. They sometimes find comfort in the fact that their current life reminds them of their past. Or, they might think that every relationship is just as bad as theirs.

If a person has never known a healthy relationship, then they won’t look for one. They won’t know what else is out there, so it causes them to be afraid to leave.

12. They Have Invested Their Time

Investing time into a relationship can make it hard to leave when things get bad. It is hard to let go of all the seemingly wasted time. Plus, they don’t want to give up on what they put their effort into.

The more an individual tries in their relationship, the harder it will be to leave. Not only will they feel like their time has been wasted, but they might feel an obligation to hold on.

afraid to leaveFinal Thoughts on Reasons Someone Might be Afraid to Leave a Bad Relationship

Bad relationships are more detrimental than you may realize unless you have been in one yourself. It is hard to get out, and many people are afraid to leave a bad relationship. These reasons should help you understand why they are scared or worried.

If you or someone you know is in a bad relationship, it is essential to understand these reasons for staying. Understanding their reasoning can help you work through them or give you the knowledge to help someone else. Remember that no one deserves to be in a bad relationship.

11 Things Successful Women Do to Stay Healthy

Today, women are holding their own and smashing the glass ceiling in the workforce. Maybe you are one of the many females who wear many “hats” with dignity and success. What is the secret behind successful women?

War and Peace

During World War II, thousands of young men were drafted to fight in the war efforts overseas. It left many domestic jobs vacant that were crucial for producing goods and services at home. So, women of all ages rolled up their sleeves and worked in factories and other traditionally male-dominated positions.

These “Rosie the Riveters” showed America that women could do just as much as men. After the war, soldiers returned and resumed their place in the workforce. However, many women had their taste of freedom and success and stayed at their jobs while raising families.

During the turbulent era of the 1960s, women struggled endlessly for equal rights and equal pay. In 1972, the Equal Rights Amendment was created to help ensure that people were treated the same regardless of their sex. Since that day, things have continued to progress as women are more successful than ever, and they truly can do or be anything they want.

successful womenEleven Tips That Successful Women Use To Stay Healthy

Whether going to a corporate job on Wall Street or handling the lessons at a local school, women need to stay in top shape mentally and physically. What tips do the successful women do that put her at the head of her class? She needs to be on top of her game, so she does these 11 things.

1. Identifying and Kicking Unhealthy Habits

Even the most successful females can be prone to a bad habit. Unfortunately, stress is a byproduct of success, and some of the ways you cope may be bad for your health. According to an article published by National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health warns that stress can cause adverse effects on your physical and mental health.

You need optimal health to continue with your success, so kicking bad habits is a must. Whether it’s substance abuse, smoking, overeating, or shopping too much, you can beat it. Some of these habits can be efficiently treated by working with a mental health provider.

2. Following a Healthy Diet Plan

No matter what your career or calling, you need a strong, healthy body to continue. It’s not easy to juggle a family, career, and other social obligations. Like most successful women, you know that time is a precious commodity. Often, you get too busy to pay attention to your eating habits.

It’s all too easy to get in a hurry at work and grab some quick junk food from a vending machine. If you are on the road a lot, the greasy gas station pizza and drive-thru burgers can quickly add on the pounds.

The best success you can have is to manage your lifestyle and eating habits. Keep healthy snacks packed at work for those afternoon hunger pangs. When you make a road trip, pack a small cooler with nutritious snacks and drinks.

Talk to your primary healthcare provider or a registered dietician about a meal plan that’s right for you.

3. Keeping a Daily Workout Routine

Women who lead successful lives know that exercise keeps their bodies working optimally. Do you get enough exercise each day? An article published by Health Capsule recommends that you get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise every week. If you divide that by seven days, it’s about 20 minutes a day.

You don’t have to spend big bucks and hours in a gym. Walking and at-home weight training can benefit your body. If you need some ideas, you may consider hiring a personal trainer to develop personalized workouts for you.

4. Being Diligent with Your Periodic Checkups

If you’re too busy to be concerned about your health, then you are too busy. It doesn’t matter if you are the most successful female in the world if it costs your life. Some serious health conditions don’t have symptoms, and a medical exam can only detect them.

Talk to your primary healthcare provider about the recommended checkups you need and how often. They usually go by your age and medical history. If you have a history of specific conditions like cancer or diabetes, you may require checkups more often.

5. Reducing Inflammation in Your Body

Did you know that inflammation can be the root cause of many diseases and disorders? An article published by the Harvard School of Medicine explains that there are two types of inflammation. Acute inflammation is from a sudden injury or sickness, while chronic inflammation can trigger a serious health condition.

Most of the time, you can have chronic inflammation without any signs or symptoms. Simple blood tests can measure components in your blood that points to chronic inflammation, per the article. It also suggests that diet and exercise may help reduce inflammation throughout your body.

Take an example from other successful women and be a winner in your eating habits, too. Maybe you have modified your diet to include nutritious whole foods and plenty of water. To nip cravings, you may also buy a few reduced-calorie versions of some of your favorite treats.

However, there is such a thing as having too much of a good thing. Even fruits and vegetables have calories. Plus, some of those reduced-calorie foods sneak in a lot of fat and questionable sugar substitutes.

As a busy person, you may cringe at the thoughts of researching every meal you eat to record the calories. Fortunately, many apps are available for smartphones or your computer to automatically do the math for you. Just scan in what you eat, and it tracks the calories. Consult a registered dietician to figure the proper daily calorie intake for your specific needs.

7. Getting The Sleep You Need

Being a success often requires long hours of work and sacrifice. Understandably, you might feel like a zombie every day. A report published by the American Sleep Apnea Association states that at least 11 percent of Americans don’t get enough sleep each night.

If you want to feel and work your best, you need to get the right amount of sleep. Do you have dark rings around your eyes, feel sluggish, and hammer the caffeine daily? Maybe you have a sleep disorder that a healthcare provider should address.

8. Dressing the Part

You only have one chance to make an excellent first impression. When you look at yourself in the mirror before work, do you see a smartly dressed woman with a smile and determination in her step? When you dress for success, you will feel better about yourself and have more successful outcomes.

Of course, you needn’t spend a fortune on designer clothes and accessories. Find colors and styles that flatter you to create your style. When people see that you have your appearance put together, they will assume you are in charge of your job too.

Most importantly, this is more about an attitude of confidence than selecting clothing or accessories.

9. Being Honest with Your Feelings

It’s unfortunate and unfair that showing emotion is viewed as a sign of weakness. Women who want to make great strides in the workforce are often expected to shut down their feelings. On the contrary, successful women have found that being true to their feelings has often been an asset.

Are you honest with how you feel, or are you keeping your emotions suppressed? These pent-up feelings may eventually affect you physically, mentally, and spiritually. Give yourself the freedom to be true to your heart.

10. Treating Yourself Occasionally

Did you get a promotion or a rousing success with a project? These are always reasons to celebrate with family, friends, and coworkers. However, you don’t need to wait for a colossal achievement to give yourself a little love and appreciation.

When was the last time you went to a spa and treated yourself to a well-deserved manicure/pedicure combo? Don’t procrastinate, taking some time to be pampered with a comforting massage. When you come home at night, draw a warm bath, light candles, and soak your cares away.

11. You Need To Meditate

There are stressors every day that will cripple you emotionally if you allow them. Thankfully, you can find ways to combat these stressors and be successful in the boardroom and on the outside. Meditation is just one way to clear the clutter and internal chaos inside your mind, and you can learn to let situations that might typically bother you go.

10 Mistakes People Make When Using The Law of Attraction

Have you ever wondered why marvelous blessings always seem to drop on certain people’s doorstep? If it were raining delicious vegetable soup, you feel like you’d be standing outside with a fork. It could be that you’re making common mistakes when using the law of attraction.

Various cultures and philosophers have discussed this law for thousands of years. According to an article published by Manifest with Ease, the modern concept of the law of attraction took form late in the 19th century. Madame Helen Blavatsky, a prominent spiritualist at the time, composed the principles of the law. Some contemporary thinkers continued and added to her work over the decades.

The Seven Principles of the Law of Attraction

Although some wording may be different according to which proponent you ask, the basic concepts of this law are the same. It assumes that when your thinking is in line with the Universe, you can manifest things you want in your life. An article published by the Transformation Seekers Guide explains the seven principles for using the law of attraction.

using the law of attraction1. Universal Influence

When you consider that the Universe is an infinite web that connects everything, you realize that your energy influences others and events in your life.

2. The Law of Right Action

Think of this law like karma. Whatever you do to others or speak out into the Universe, it will come back to you. This boomerang effect is inevitable, be it for good or evil.

3. The Law of Harmony

Every atom in the Universe vibrates and brings all things into balance and harmony. When you align yourself to this universal frequency, your manifestations become a reality.

4. The Law of Balance

There must be a precise balance between being grateful for your present situation and the desires you want to manifest in the future. Don’t get so wrapped up in the future that you’re oblivious to the present.

5. The Law of Doubtless Desire

The greatest obstacle between you and living your best life is doubt. When you speak your affirmations into the atmosphere, they must be firm and unwavering.

6. The Law of Magnetism

If you consider yourself a giant magnet, think of the energy you put forth and what you attract. The more positivity you radiate, the more favorable your manifestations will be.

7. The Law of Manifestation

Your every word thought, and deed is mirrored in another dimension in the Universe. As soon as the other-worldly mirror receives your affirmations, it reflects the same to you. So, there’s genuinely no limit to what you can have or become.

Common Mistakes When You Use the Law of Attraction

You can’t expect to be an expert when you’re a beginner. Fortunately, the Universe is infinitely patient and compassionate as you learn to manifest your desires. Here are ten common mistakes when using the law of attraction and how you can fix them.

1. Beginning Too Big

You’ve probably heard all your life to dream big and shoot for the stars. Yes, you shouldn’t put limitations on your potential. However, learning how to use the law of attraction takes time, and baby steps are the best.

At first, you’re tapping into the knowledge that the Universe is able and willing to fulfill your heart’s desire. However, it’s common to feel skeptical when you voice an affirmation that’s too big. When the Universe hears you say, “This isn’t going to happen,” then it won’t happen.

The best way to build your trust in the Universe and how this law works is by starting small. Often, novices start with menial requests like seeing a butterfly or having a long-lost friend call. Since you know these are reasonable requests, you have less doubt, and you see results. Then, it’s easier to move on to larger requests.

pop meme2. You’re Unsure of Your Request

Remember what it was like as a child in the candy store? You looked through the glistening glass counter at the endless kaleidoscope of sweets. Maybe you changed your mind a hundred times before you could settle on what to buy.

If you’re browsing through a store’s website, you’ll never get anything delivered until you choose what you want. The same principle applies when you use the law of attraction. Nothing is accomplished without a set outcome in mind.

Before you call your petition into the Universe, it’s essential to focus on what you want and the reasoning behind it. You’ll have greater clarity to agree and manifest your desire.

3. You’re Stuck in a Negative Attitude

A study published by the Psychoanalytic Review suggests that people who have a negative attitude can get addicted to negativity at a young age. If you play the victim card by chronically complaining that nothing good ever happens in your life, it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

You can use the law of attraction to your advantage. However, you have a better connection with the Universe when you’re more optimistic. Try to change your self-talk to include positive affirmations that attract positive outcomes.

4. Voicing Your Affirmations Incorrectly

As you focus on attracting positive things in your life, remember the importance of affirmations that are worded positively. For example, you may say, “I don’t want to struggle financially anymore.” It’s an understandable desire, but the emphasis is placed on the financial struggle instead of the financial freedom.

Use positive and specific phrases in your affirmations that are rooted in the present. Instead of saying, “I don’t want to be stuck in this dead-end job,” declare, “I have a career that I love.” By changing your mindset, you attract the thing you want instead of addressing what you don’t want.

5. Not Investing in Your Affirmations

It’s a common misconception that using the law of attraction is like having a private genie in a bottle. There’s no “magic” involved that would allow you to sit back and have all your wishes granted without effort. You must do your part as well.

What are your goals when your affirmations become a reality? Having a game plan helps put your desires in perspective, so you know what you must do to achieve them. When you play an active role in your destiny, you’re aligning with the Universe.

6. You’re Not Consistent

Have you ever achieved anything in your life when you applied minimal effort? You can’t expect to get any more than what you put into it. Only when you’re fully committed to agreeing with the Universe will you see the positive results you want.

Don’t be too hard on yourself as you try to overcome this mistake. It takes time and patience to learn how to trust the law of attraction and work with it. Soon, making positive affirmations each day will come naturally for you.

7. You’re Afraid of Change

Like most people, you feel comfortable in the familiar and resist change. However, this resistance can be one thing that keeps you from your best life if you’re hesitant to shift and new opportunities.

When you speak affirmations, be willing to accept the changes and opportunities that come with them. Part of trusting the Universe is knowing that your best interests are at heart. These changes are all part of attracting what’s best for you.

8. You Become an Obsessive Thinker

Another common mistake of using the law of attraction is to obsess about the outcome. It’s like depositing money in the bank and then calling them every hour to ensure your money is still there. Karma doesn’t forget, so you can speak your affirmation and leave it in the best hands.

Instead of chronically worrying if your affirmations will turn out, speak them as they are already accomplished. Focus on how they are benefiting your life as they materialize. Then, you won’t have time for doubt and negativity.

9. You Aren’t Satisfied in Your Life

Of course, you want more satisfaction in your life; else, you wouldn’t try to attract it. However, using the law of attraction without gratification won’t take you far. If you focus on the things that make you unhappy, you’re only going to attract more of the same.

There is a fine line between complacency and gratitude at the moment. Make it a habit of listing at least five things for which you’re grateful every day. You can make it part of your journal.

When you cultivate an attitude of gratitude, you send positive affirmations into the Universe that says, “My life is bountiful and full of people and things I love.” The Universe agrees, and you will begin seeing more blessings of the same.

10. You’re Not Fully Aware of Yourself

Many people sum up self-awareness by using Socrates’ famous quote, “Know thyself.” Using the law of attraction, you’re trying to bring your thoughts and desires in line with the Universe. You can’t do that if you aren’t aware of yourself and your true purpose.

You can become more aware of your feelings and spiritual growth by meditating and keeping a journal. Be brutally honest with yourself, but also be compassionate and give yourself time to heal and evolve. When your life purpose aligns with the Universe, you will see more significant manifestations.

The plans for your life were established before you were even born. The task of living is to become more self-aware and spiritually open to your destiny. Using the law of attraction properly can open your eyes to manifestations you never dreamed were possible.

Welsh Study Explains How Climate Change Increases Hailstorms

A new Welsh study found that climate change will likely cause more hailstorms in Australia and Europe. The international review also revealed that hailstorms would become more severe in many regions of the world. The study led by a UNSW Sydney researcher was published in Nature Reviews Earth & Environment.

The review investigated how climate change will affect hail in the future. The study provides a global summary of hail trends from the past and future projections from simulations and models. In summary, the review found that North America and East Asia will see fewer hailstorms. Australia and Europe will have more frequent hailstorms, and severe weather with hail will increase worldwide.

It started with an international collaboration

Researchers from the University of Bern, Central Michigan University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Illinois, Colorado State University, and Peking University collaborated.

Lead author and postdoctoral researcher at UNSW Sydney’s Climate Change Research Centre, Dr. Tim Raupach said,

“We came to the conclusion that on balance, the hail threat is likely to increase in Australia, especially in Australia’s south-east including the Sydney area,”

However, the team says present, and future climate change impacts on hailstorms have a degree of uncertainty. Long-term observations and models remain limited in this area of research.

“There’s very high uncertainty when it comes to these predictions, and Australia is particularly of high uncertainty because there are very few studies that have actually looked at Australia.”

The researchers noted many unknowns with hailstorms. Thus, the team wanted to do more studies on climate change’s impacts on the hail. However, they have uncovered a few important pieces of information based on current research.

How changes in the atmosphere will affect hail frequency and severity

In this study, the team investigated how changes in the atmosphere would drive more severe weather with hail. Atmospheric instability, wind shear, and melting of falling hailstones will all change with a warmer climate. While hailstorms will become less frequent overall, their intensity will increase when they do occur.

“We know with climate change that we are going to have more moisture in the atmosphere, and that leads to more instability in the atmosphere, so we expect there will be more tendency for thunderstorms to occur because of this unstable atmosphere,” Dr. Raupach said.

He also said that ice would begin to melt at higher levels in the atmosphere with a warmer atmosphere.

“So as a melting level gets higher, hail that forms high in the atmosphere and falls towards the ground has more time to melt and may indeed melt entirely before it gets to the ground, and you end up with no hail at the surface.”

With climate change, overall wind shear – differences in the wind by height – will actually decrease, Raupach said. However, the other two factors – instability in the atmosphere and melt heights of hailstones – will more strongly impact hailstorms.

“The changes you can expect of these three properties of the atmosphere lead us to expect that hail will be less frequent because there’s more melting essentially in the future,” Dr. Raupach said.

“But the hail will be more severe when it does occur because there will be more instability in the atmosphere which can lead to the formation of much larger hailstones. So when the hail does survive this extra melting, it will be larger and more severe when it does actually hit the surface.”

However, the review found that this generalized prediction would not apply everywhere in the world.

Dr. Raupach said this:

“Regional variability in the atmospheric changes leads to varying hail responses, which is why studies show increasing hail frequency in Europe but decreasing hail frequency in East Asia, for example.”

Why scientists find it hard to measure hail

The study investigated hailstorm trends using previous data from:

  • meteorological stations
  • hail pads (sheets that record hail impacts)
  • media reports

Dr. Raupach said that these trends contained high uncertainty due to the difficulty in measuring hailstorms. Because of their isolated and relatively infrequent occurrence, data is minimal.

“If you put out an instrument to capture [or] measure hail, even in a place where you might expect a lot of hail, you might only get one or two hits on that instrument in a year,” he said.

“If you are trying to look at climate change and long-term trends where you want decades of information, it’s very difficult to collect that kind of information about hail.”

In the review, researchers also gathered information from simulations and model studies that predict climate change’s impact on future hailstorms.

“You can see whether the model actually produces more hailstorms or fewer hailstorms in the future when you change the properties of the model, such as making the temperature higher or increasing the melting level height,” Dr. Raupach said.

However, regular weather models don’t accurately predict hailstorms due to their isolated incidences.

“You need to have a very high-resolution model to actually be able to resolve the size of the hailstorm,” Dr. Raupach said. “There have been a few of these studies, but they are relatively rare, and we need more of them to be able to understand how hail will change in the future with climate change.”

Predicting hailstorm behavior in the presence of climate change

Because of the difficulty in gathering accurate data about hailstorms, researchers recommended changes in methodology in the future. For instance, they believe using hail pads in uncovered hail spots will more accurately record long-term observations. Furthermore, the team recommends using process-oriented studies. This measure helps to understand better how hail forms in clouds and later grow into large hail.

“For example, a topic of current research is whether an increase of aerosols leads to an increase in hail formation or a decrease in hail formation.”

Finally, they suggested studying the economic impacts of hail, taking into account changes in building material, population growth, and crop cycles.

In future research, they suggest utilizing more high-resolution computer models run at high-performance facilities like the National Computational Infrastructure in Canberra.

“As these systems come online, we are able to do high-resolution studies that were previously too computationally expensive to actually run. These models are going to be extremely useful for understanding how hail will change in a warming climate.”

hailstormsFinal thoughts: study reveals that climate change will increase the severity of hailstorms

A recent Welsh study found that climate change will cause more frequent, severe hailstorms in some locations worldwide. However, not all areas will see the same impacts. In East Asia and North America, for instance, hailstorms will diminish in frequency. In Australia and Europe, scientists expect more persistent hailstorms, while hailstorms’ severity will increase worldwide. However, scientists still need to do more research to understand better how climate change affects hail.

15 Money Affirmations to Help Make Wise Financial Decisions

While money isn’t everything in life, it does make a difference in all aspects. With money affirmations, you can make it a habit to think positively about money, which will help you make better financial decisions. If you can make better choices with your money, you will experience a freedom that comes no other way.

When you think negatively about money, you are likely to make bad financial decisions. These choices can hold you back in life, preventing you from paying your bills on time or causing you to miss out on opportunities. With a positive outlook on money, though, all of that can be different.

Using money affirmations can help you shift your mindset, helping you to make better financial choices. You will find comfort in your ability to pay all of your bills and pay for all of the things you need in life. Plus, you will have the money to experience new things in life, too.

All of this can help you live a more fulfilling life without stressing about money. You can keep your finances on track, stay positive, and build your wealth.

Fifteen Money Affirmations to Help Make Wise Financial Decisions

Remember the power of positive thinking and the effectiveness of money affirmations to help you succeed.

Give yourself some credit because you can be disciplined if you use this money affirmation each day. It will give you the confidence and the right mindset to turn away from unwise decisions. Believe in yourself as you repeat this phrase, and you’ll have an easier time making the best choices.

2. I choose to consider every purchase before I make it and spend my money wisely.

Try not to make rash decisions when it comes to your finances. Instead, take the time to think every purchase through before you make it. You might find that you often change your mind and decide not to spend the money, helping you save quite a bit.

If you still can’t stop thinking about what you wanted to buy, then go for it as long as you can afford it. As long as you give yourself time to think it through, you can be confident that you made the right choice.

3. I think positively about money because negative thinking doesn’t get me closer to my goals.

Ensuring positive thinking will help you reach your financial goals quicker. Negative thinking, on the other hand, will hold you back and cause you to limit yourself. If you find that you are thinking negatively about money, use this affirmation until you change your thought process.

Focus on the good things, even if you feel like you aren’t moving along quickly enough. When you focus on the positives, you will find that progress comes easier and quicker, too.

4. I use my money for bills and other priorities.

When you feel tempted to spend frivolously, use this money affirmation to talk yourself out of it. Try to limit your spending to things you have planned for and especially for your bills. If you allow yourself to overspend on other things, you might come up short when it’s time for scheduled payments.

5. I am working hard to increase my income.

With an increase in your income, you will open yourself up to many new possibilities. You can save more, pay down debt, and do things you have always dreamed of. Allow yourself to get to this point in life by putting in the hard work that it takes.

Of course, you will be tempted to slack once in a while, but try to avoid giving in. Use this money affirmation to refocus and stay on track.

9 Healthful Benefits of Eating Gluten-free Sorghum

Are you searching for natural food that is healthy, versatile, and flavorful? Then you’re bound to love sorghum.

Not only is this ancient grain loaded with nutrients and fiber, but it’s also gluten-free.

Perhaps your only familiarity with this grain by seeing it as a bottled syrup in the grocery store. This tasty and nutritious syrup comes from grass that’s related to bamboo, fescue, and lemongrass.

Since this grain tolerates long seasons of drought, it’s often cultivated in arid climates that get minimal rainfall. Much of the world’s supply comes from African nations, where it’s a staple crop. It’s also a significant export harvest for warmer regions of the United States.

Historical Attributes

sorghumThis grain has a history that goes back at least 8,000 years BCE in Ancient Egypt, says an article published by the Kansas Farm Food Connection. Over the centuries, its cultivation spread across the world, including North America. In fact, states the article, Benjamin Franklin may have been the first to write about using the grassy plant for making brooms in the colonies.

The article also mentions that Kansas is the leading grower of this grain. Not only is the grain and its products used for human food, but it’s also used to feed farm animals and for producing ethanol.

Do you live in a warm climate and have moderate sandy soil? You can grow this lovely grain as quickly as you can, corn or wheat. It’s an annual that starts from a seed, and you can raise as much or as little as you like.

In syrup form, it creates a dark, thick, sweet nectar that’s similar to molasses. However, these syrups have different taste profiles and derive from different plants. Molasses is processed from the sweet juices of sugar cane plants, and the other comes from grain.

Preparing the Various Types of Sorghum

This healthy plant can be prepared in many ways, not just as the perennial syrup in the baking aisle. Did you know different cultivars have grain in four different colors? You can find the grain in yellow, white, red, or black.

It’s a versatile grain that can be enjoyed whole or ground into flour or thick, sweet syrup. Either way, you can incorporate a form of the grain into some yummy and nutritious recipes. It’s the perfect complement for savory or sweet dishes.

You’ll also be glad to know that preparing this hearty grain is just as simple as making rice or any other of your favorite morsels. If you buy the whole grain or rounded variety, also called pearl, you have many preparation options. You can make it on your stove, in a pressure cooker, slow cooker, or even your rice steamer.

Feel free to use this satisfying verdant in any of your whole-grain dishes. It has a subtle fragrance and a pleasant al dente texture. Its flavor is light and neutral, and it’s ideal for mixing into a fresh salad, soup, casserole, or a stand-alone side dish. You can even pop it on the stove like miniature popcorn.

You can also enjoy this plant in its processed forms, such as syrup and whole-grain flour. Many gluten-free mixtures in the store contain flour made from this grain. It makes mouthwatering gluten-free goodies like cookies, bread, and muffins. Just remember to enjoy them in moderation.

Nine Health Benefits of Consuming Sorghum

A publication from the Whole Grains Council recommends that you have at least three servings of whole grains each day, totaling about 48 grams. In addition to being tasty and inexpensive, sorghum provides this recommendation and beyond. Here are nine health benefits for you to consider.

1. Provides Plenty of Antioxidants

A study published by Phytochemistry found that this grain is a significant source of antioxidants. These naturally occurring phytochemicals protect your body’s cells from the damage of free radicals. In doing such, says the study, it’s possible to reduce your chances of developing common diseases.

The study also mentions that the tannin in this grassy plant may lower your chances of obesity. This may lead to better heart health. It can also make you less prone to obesity-linked diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and certain cancers, per the study.

2. Sorghum May Reduce Inflammation

If you have inflammation in your body, it may be a prime source of pain and certain diseases. According to an article published by the Journal of Medicinal Food, the phytochemicals found in specific cultivars have anti-inflammatory properties. It suggests that a healthy diet including this grain may help reduce inflammation and predisposition for diseases in your body.

3. Punch of Protein

Are you trying to include more healthy protein into your daily meals? Here’s a tasty grain product that may help. It’s especially beneficial for vegans or vegetarians who need high protein alternatives to meat.

Just a half-cup of this ancient food provides 11 grams of protein, says a publication from Nutrition Value. This serving would make 22 percent of your daily recommendation for protein, quotes the source. Even if you are trying to eat less meat, it’s an excellent source of plant protein.

4. Pump Up Your Iron

Your body couldn’t function without iron, an abundant mineral in many foods. It helps your blood cells transport oxygen more efficiently and boosts your immune system.

Do you want to maximize your daily iron intake? This grain is a delicious way to do it. If you have a diagnosed iron deficiency, making it part of your diet may bring your body back into balance.

iron5. Full of Fiber

Ancient grains and cereals are some of the best sources of fiber you can eat. Fiber provides the bulk material that moves nutrients through your digestive tract. A table published by the USDA states that a half cup of this grain provides 6.7 grams of beneficial fiber.

6. Good for Your Heart

Your heart needs several vitamins and minerals to stay healthy, and this grain can provide them. Some of these heart-healthy substances include potassium, magnesium, and fiber. These nutrients may help lower your blood pressure and cholesterol, which in turn can reduce your risks of cardiac problems.

7. May Stabilize Glucose Levels

Not only does this grain’s high fiber content benefit your digestive system, but it can also help you manage your blood glucose levels. The fiber acts as a filter and keeps ingested glucose from entering your bloodstream at once. With this gradual entrance, your blood glucose level can be steady instead of spiking and dropping.

8. May Help Lower Cholesterol

If you have problems with high cholesterol, consider adding this grain to your diet. Its abundant fiber latches on to excess cholesterol molecules and keeps your bloodstream from absorbing them. You may see a difference the next time you have your cholesterol checked.

In addition to beneficial fiber, it contains plant sterols that may further reduce your cholesterol absorption, especially the harmful LDL type. Plant sterols are also found in other whole grains, like rye and oats. It’s a tasty way to lower your cholesterol and minimize your risks of cardiovascular disease.

9. Sorghum Is Celiac Disease-Friendly

Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with celiac disease? According to an article published by the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestion, and Kidney Diseases, people with celiac disease can’t ingest gluten because it wreaks havoc on their small intestines. If they eat anything with gluten, they battle painful bloating and diarrhea and can’t absorb vital nutrients.

Unfortunately, gluten is the main protein in whole grains like wheat and rye. So, many baked goods are off your menu if you have celiac disease. The good news is that sorghum is a whole grain that is naturally free of gluten and can be used safely in many of your favorite recipes.

Possible Risks or Side Effects of Consuming Sorghum

Most people can incorporate this delicious grain into their diet without any problems. However, you may need to keep your intake moderate if you have sensitivities to potassium-rich foods. It’s something to discuss with your medical provider or a registered dietician.

Potassium is an essential electrolyte that keeps your muscles healthy and strong. Any excess potassium you consume is usually flushed out harmlessly through your kidneys. But your kidneys may not do complete flushing if you have chronic kidney disease, so the potassium can build up to dangerous levels.

Two servings or less of this grain may keep your potassium at a safe level. However, overeating can raise your potassium levels and threaten your health. Such a condition could cause a heart attack.

sorghumFinal Thoughts about the Benefits of Eating Sorghum

Sorghum and its processed products offer health benefits that are hard to ignore. Whether you have gluten intolerance or you need a boost of nutrients and fiber, this plant may be your answer. Talk to a registered dietician to discover more exciting ways you can incorporate it into your healthy diet.

Amazing Couple Takes Performance Art to a Whole New Level

People tell stories and share a piece of themselves through many different mediums, including performance art. Performance art offers a way for creators to actually embody art themselves. In other words, it utilizes the human body and its ability to create through movement. Other types of art such as paintings and sculptures are considered static, whereas visual arts are dynamic.

One couple decided to take up performance art together, and they have mastered many different styles and techniques. Jessie Kat and her partner do fire dancing, juggling, unicycling and more! Here is their inspiring story of how they create art through movement.

Jessie has been performing since she was a young girl, and she’s continually evolved her art ever since.

“I found the hula hoop about 6 or 7 years ago. I got the chance to take some classes with a wonderful friend of mine named Katelyn Carano,” Jessie said. “Then, I met someone who led me into the world of fire dancing, and that really expanded my art.”

She says fire dancing includes so many different props and things you can do with them. Fire dancing actually began thousands of years ago in ancient Polynesia. Historians believe the Maori people of New Zealand created Poi, a Maori word for “ball on a string.” Maori warriors originally used poi as a tool to train for battles or hunting.

How this ancient art form eventually transformed into modern fire dancing

Swinging the balls around helped them gain wrist strength and flexibility for using different hunting tools or weapons. Eventually, the Maori used the balls for various types of performance art. The poi was made of flax fibers called muka and the middle of the raupo stem. Modern poi is made of synthetic fibers of various bright colors.

However, the art of lighting the poi balls on fire didn’t occur until the mid 20th century. The Samoans used the poi in a traditional knife dance called ailao. This showed the Samoan warrior’s strength and capabilities in battle and was performed primarily at ceremonial processions of daughters and chiefs. Then, the Samoan people began using machetes instead of knives in the fire dances.

In 1946, a Samoan-American named Uluao Letuli started lighting knives on fire after going to San Francisco’s Shriner Convention. There, he watched a baton twirler and fire-eater perform, and decided to light his own knife on fire. From there, this became a common ritual for the Samoans, and the Polynesian people started lighting all their ceremonial props on fire. In the 1950s, the first fire poi performances, known as luaus, began in Hawaii.

Fire poi are made of chain and kevlar wicks on each end and are stuffed with cotton, which easily absorbs fuel. Most performers use kerosene because of its low burning temperature. The fire poi and knife have evolved into other types of instruments like fire fans, umbrellas, balls, and whips.

In America, fire dancing didn’t become popular until the early 1990s at places that naturally drew in crowds for performance art. Typically, raves, beach parties, concerts, and festivals have been popular events for fire artists. A huge attraction for artists of all types is the famous Burning Man festival. There are many other types of events like these throughout the year that draw in artists from around the world.

The couple showcases their performance art all over the country for large crowds

Jessie and Kyle perform at many of these festivals and gatherings, showing off their unique skills together. Kyle aka “Flowstyle Kyle” is a multi-prop juggling performer and instructor. He first got into performance arts in 2015, and his knowledge and experience have continued to grow. He started teaching people to juggle and fire dance in 2016, and started traveling to festivals in 2018.

Kyle and his partner have their own unique style which makes them stand out from the crowd. They use different types of props in their performances such as electric unicycles, LED lights, hoops, and fire. They’ve put hundreds of hours and dedication into perfecting their craft for people to enjoy. They both want to spread their love for performance art wherever they go, and help others learn this beautiful art form.

“I want to continue to move and to grow and love,” Jessie says. “I want to continue to make people smile, to make children laugh, to inspire others.”

“It is pretty hard to stay motivated during these hard times, and I feel so lucky that I have a partner (whose name is Flowstyle Kyle) who has really pushed me to be better and better every single day and teaches me something new all the time. Our goal for the future is to continue to juggle and do electric unicycle riding. We are currently creating an act together that we cannot wait to share with the world.”

We can’t wait to see what types of performance art they come up with!

If you’d like to check out more of their performance art, you can follow Jessie on Instagram here. Kyle also has an Instagram page, and the couple shares a page called Electric Jugglers for their unicycle art.

Final thoughts: Performance art like Jessie and Kyle’s help people connect through movement

There are so many different types of art in the world, from music to painting to performing. Art helps people put feelings and thoughts into a type of expression that people can relate to. For instance, music helps people relate to certain emotions or experiences an artist portrays with their lyrics. In the same way, performance art allows people to connect by watching others express themselves with fluid movements and props.

Art is all about expression – making our inner worlds visible somehow so others can understand. Jessie and Kyle have perfected their skills over the years, teaching them to thousands of others. They travel frequently to festivals to share their talents, and they have plenty more tricks up their sleeves. They truly love performance art, and if you go to festivals, you may get lucky enough to see them perform.

12 Signs That Someone Has a Norepinephrine Deficiency

You have chemicals in your brain that are responsible for controlling your mental wellbeing. You’ve probably heard a great deal about dopamine and serotonin, but have you heard about norepinephrine?

It’s sometimes called noradrenaline as it’s released by the sympathetic nerve fibers, which control and regulate the heart’s contractions.

This chemical is a vital part of your body’s defense system in the time of threat. It’s essential to the fight-or-flight sensations that you feel during times of duress. This brain chemical is often mistaken for epinephrine, a different chemical produced in the adrenal system.

The purpose of this transmitter is to transfer messages from the brain to the body, and it also has some functions of a hormone. Ulf von Euler, a Swedish psychologist who first identified this vital brain chemical back in the mid-1940s, even received a Nobel Peace Prize for his groundbreaking work in this area during 1970.

What Causes A Norepinephrine Deficiency?

norepinephrineYour brain chemicals can become imbalanced when your neurotransmitters are either in abundance or deficient. These natural chemicals are responsible for the communication that happens in your nerve cells throughout your body. For decades, the medical community has used these theories to treat people who suffer from anxiety, depression, or even bipolar disorder.

However, it’s found that having an imbalance of these chemicals can also affect pain levels or sicknesses within the body. For instance, a person who has received a diagnosis of fibromyalgia can benefit from treatments that increase the brain’s chemical levels, and it helps to bring some much-needed relief. Of all the brain chemicals, norepinephrine is the one that is targeted the most to assist in pain therapy.

Still, there is a lot of controversy regarding pain being a brain issue, and the complexity of the situation divides the medical community. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that some people undergo therapy to increase or balance the brain chemicals for their depression and anxiety, but this treatment method doesn’t help everyone. Many people find no relief in using risky drugs or experimental methods.

This blows the theory that the transmitters like serotonin and dopamine are the only factors in mental illness. The brain is an extraordinarily complex system that is more intriguing than any wiring system you will ever encounter. When things don’t fire as they should, then it can throw the whole body off balance.

Another interesting theory that has recently come to light is the gut-brain connection. Is it possible that what you’re eating is eating at you? Some experts believe this is the key to stopping anxiety and depression.

Where Does the Gut-Brain Connection Fit in Mental Health?

Using the theory that only brain chemicals cause depression and anxiety is largely disproven as more information becomes available. Have you ever had a big presentation for work, and you became severely anxious about it? Some people may experience digestive upset, nausea, or even diarrhea due to their nerves being frazzled.

How did a situation that started as anxiety affect your stomach? The only possible way these issues could affect one another is that they’re linked. Millions of nerves run from your gut to your brain, and the vagus nerve is the most prominent one.

Is it possible that what you’re eating affects your mental health and the vital neurotransmitters in your brain? Consider the keto diet and its effects on mental health. Why is it that when people start on this restrictive lifestyle where they cut out carbs and sugar, their mental health increases?

According to Perfect Keto, the diet was created in the 1920s to help those who had epilepsy. By balancing the gut-brain connection, people saw a change in this horrifying medical condition. The diet was a huge success, and it began to be used for other purposes.

Those individuals who suffer from brain fog, lack productivity, or poor mental performance saw a difference within the first two weeks. Could your diet have everything to do with norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin? According to R.M. Wilders, creator of the ketogenic diet, he believed it did.

Signs of a Norepinephrine Deficiency

When your brain chemicals are out of whack, you can experience somatic symptoms. Now how do you know if your symptoms are just stress-related or if they’re being caused by chemicals that are improperly balanced in the brain? The problem is that you don’t know, and there is no definitive testing at this time that can prove or debunk this theory.

However, since norepinephrine is so involved with the body’s pain levels, you might notice some signs of a deficiency that warrant further investigation. Here are the most common symptoms of a brain chemical deficiency.

1. Headaches

101 things can cause headaches, but they can also be due to a chemical imbalance in the brain. If you’ve tried everything to get rid of these painful occurrences and nothing works, then balancing your neurotransmitters may be the key.

2. Back and Neck Pain

Back and neck pain is a common occurrence. It can happen during times of intense stress or after an accident. You can also inherit a lousy back from your parents. However, it can also be a significant sign that your brain chemicals are deficient.

3. Jaw Pain

For some reason, jaw pain can be directly associated with many things going on in the body. Have you ever heard of someone having pain in this location right before a heart attack? It can also be an issue when the brain is deficient in these chemical transmitters.

4. Fibromyalgia Symptoms

Fibromyalgia is a widespread pain condition that affects the entire body. It can range from mild to crippling, and many have found help not in pain relief remedies but in balancing the neurotransmitters.

5. Irritable Bowel Syndrome

IBS affects between 25-45 million people in this country or about 10-15 percent of the population. This comes from a study referenced by About IBS. Again, this has parallels between the gut-brain connection as when you’re anxious. You often have issues with diarrhea.

neurotransmitters6. Anxiety

Anytime any of the neurotransmitters are imbalanced, it’s known to cause anxiety. However, it’s important to remember that anxiety is a natural part of the body’s defense system. So, you can feel those fight or flight moments due to circumstances that have nothing to do with your brain chemicals being out of whack.

7. Panic Attacks

Panic is closely related to anxiety. When anxiety hits high levels, a person can have a complete break known as a panic attack. These attacks can last for 10-20 minutes, and their severity ranges from mild to crippling.

8. Widespread Joint Pain

Widespread joint pain is very much like fibromyalgia. However, you can have bodily pains without having a significant diagnosis such as this one. When hormone levels are off in the body, and the brain’s chemicals aren’t sending the right signals, you can suffer greatly.

9. Low Blood Pressure

Since norepinephrine is responsible for heart function, it stands to reason that you can have issues with blood pressure too. When this hormone level is not correct, it can affect your heart in many ways, but blood pressure is one avenue that is most noticed.

10. Reduced Muscle Tone

Your muscle tone can also falter when you have issues with your brain chemicals. You might notice things like droopy eyelids or rigidness in your muscles. Are there people who think they have something more severe that needs a boost in their neurotransmitters to make them feel better?

11. ADHD Symptoms

ADHD is a neurological disorder, but an imbalance of brain chemicals can acerbate it. Even those who have never had problems with ADHD might have symptoms when their neurotransmitters are off. This is why so many doctors encourage people to go on a restrictive diet as a first line of defense against this condition.

12. Brain Fog

Brain fog is an issue that makes you feel like you do not see things. The world around you is hazy, and you feel off. Your brain’s chemicals can have everything to do with this, or it can be caused by other issues too.

norepinephrineFinal Thoughts on Brain Chemical Deficiencies

Treating norepinephrine deficiency is complex. Many medical treatment methods come with scary side effects, but you can choose the natural path. Exercise proves to be one of the best methods to raise this brain chemical with no side effects, plus it can make your entire body feel better.

Since this brain chemical responds to stress, reducing stress levels is critical in bringing things back to a neutral point. There are so many symptoms in the body when the neurotransmitters are not at adequate levels, but other things can cause them.

In many instances, it warrants a bit of trial and error to find what works for you and makes you feel better. However, you can never go wrong with increasing your exercise and decreasing your stress levels, as well as eating a healthy diet.

4 Ways to Handle Painful Emotions That Are Too Hard to Let Go

Everyone deals with negative thoughts and feelings. Sadly, these painful emotions seem to always surface at the most inopportune times. The real issue is these unresolved emotional struggles can distract you from the things in your life that are good.

If you give these thoughts much credulous, you will soon notice that your mindset is more negative than positive. Breaking the habit of a pessimistic mindset is not easy, and it requires retraining your brain to let things go. When’s the last time you’ve felt stressed out?

The average person feels stress quite often, and it can get to explosive levels before you know it. Consequently, when you’re under pressure, your mind tends to ruminate about all the issues from your past that keep resurfacing. How do you calm the chaos in your mind and get the internal chatter to stop?

Four Ways to Deal with Painful Emotions

painful emotionsIt would help if you learned to deal with these emotions that cripple you. If you want to live a happy and healthy life, you must let go of the past.

Whether someone has hurt you or you’ve been abused doesn’t matter; any hurts can cause you to ruminate on all the wrongs in your life. Thankfully, there are four ways that you can use to conquer these problems and move on.

1. Learn to Be Present in The Moment

One of the most powerful tools you will learn is how to be in the moment. It’s easy for your mind to wander to the past when things are going crazy. Your mind needs justification for what you feel, so it likes having a pity party and bringing up all your painful emotions from the past.

Another problem that commonly happens is that people worry about things that haven’t even happened yet. How many times do you sit and fret over something that may or may not occur in the future? If you have an anxiety disorder, you’re prone to worry more than someone else.

However, an article referenced a study about worry. Experts found that more than 85 percent of the things you fret over will never happen. Think of all that time you waste because you’re not present in the moment.

Both your future and your past are robbing you of valuable time in the present. The way to counteract this issue is to focus on the here and now and not give yesterday or tomorrow center stage. Now, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t plan, but it means that you don’t let what hasn’t happened yet clutter your mind.

It sounds like a simple process, but it’s not as easy as it appears. However, there are a few tricks that can help you be in the moment. Find an image that brings you peace. Maybe your place of refuge is a beach surrounded by seagulls and waves crashing all around.

When you hold this picture, allow your mind to let go. If this trick doesn’t work, then you can try counting. When anxiety from painful emotions starts revving up, then you need to defuse it. Start by counting from 100 down to one. You can even calculate by fives if it makes things more interesting.

The key is to focus on counting; then, your mind doesn’t have time to ruminate about all those painful things. This strategy helps you to clear your mind so that you can reconnect with the world around you.

2. Re-Center Your Mind and Find Tranquility

If you allow your thoughts to have center stage, then you will disconnect from the world around you. How can you be focused on your job or your child that’s toddling bout if your mind is a million miles away? Even worse, if you feel guilt or shame associated with these emotions, it can put you in a horrible mood.

The more power you give to these harmful and painful emotions, the stronger they become. It would help if you defused these feelings by reconnecting with the world around you. One way that you can reconnect is by volunteering. It’s challenging to have a pity party for yourself when you see that someone else has things much worse than you.

Another thing you might want to do is put your feet on the floor to ground you and pay attention to your surroundings. Focus on the here and now and notice the room’s color, the smell wafting through the air, and the conversations going on around you. Dialectal behavioral therapy teaches you to come out of anxiety by focusing on the atmosphere.

Since your brain cannot focus on two things at once, it’s much more pleasant to focus on your space rather than these emotional challenges. Lastly, to reconnect with what’s around you, you should go outside in the sunshine. Even if it’s raining, who says there’s anything wrong with dancing in the rain?

Mother Nature has so many therapeutic properties that many don’t use. Do you love the smell of spring rain as it sends the nectar of sweet flowers permeating through the air? Have you noticed any birds building nests as they prepare for a new life?

There is so much beauty and tranquility all around you, but if you’re caught up in the chatter inside your mind from your pain, then it will pass you by.

treat me like an option meme3. Stop Being So Self-Conscious

When you allow these painful emotions to creep in, it promotes self-negativity. Are you a self-conscious person by nature? Do you have a dialogue that runs through your mind that keeps your esteem low?

Negative and hurtful emotions often come with damaging thoughts. All these thoughts play like a film in your mind that keeps going round and round. Sadly, these thoughts are very distracting and keep you from accomplishing what you need to do.

Have you ever tried to talk to someone whose mind was a million miles away? It’s like pulling teeth to get an answer from them. You become impossible to talk to, and it’s a challenge for you to focus when you pay attention to this reel of negativity that’s running in your mind.

To boost your esteem, you should do activities that make you feel more confident. Can you bake or cook well? Why not whip up a batch of cookies to take into the office with you? When people taste the goodness that comes from your hands, their compliments will give you a boost.

It feels good to be complimented. Now, once you have that feeling fresh in your mind, you need to remind yourself how great it feels when you put aside all the negativity and allow yourself to shine.

4. Don’t Run from These Thoughts – Process Them

Have you ever met someone that can’t get over an issue? Take, for instance, a woman named Ruth. She was engaged to be married to the love of her life, Bob.

Ruth and Bob had an excellent relationship, and he completed her. She was so looking forward to spending forever with him. One day they were swimming at the local quarry, and Bob dove into a section that wasn’t as deep as he thought.

He ruptured his stomach and had other internal injuries. Bob passed away that day, and Ruth was never the same. Though she found love again and married, there wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t think about Bob.

The pain she felt in her heart was too much for her to bear, and even with seven children and a house full of work to do, her mind often replayed the events of that day. Sadly, Ruth never came to terms with the significant loss she suffered in her life, and she developed bipolar disorder.

Had she processed the feelings appropriately and dealt with her pain, her outcome might have been quite different. The fact is that your negative and hurtful emotions will haunt you if you allow them to. What Ruth needed to do was to stop ruminating about the events that happened.

She felt remorse because the tragedy left her unable to deal with the situation effectively, so she hid the emotions deep inside and never talked about it. How much better she would have felt if she let out those emotions and talked about them. Bottling things inside can be dangerous, as your mind can only handle so much stress and pain before it shuts down.

You mustn’t run from your issues and learn effective ways to deal with them. Speak things into the open, cry at the top of your lungs, be angry at the situation, but the good news is you will finally come to terms with things. It’s okay to hurt, and it’s okay to cry, but you can’t let it go on forever.

Your life is going to have ups and downs. There will be triumphs, and there will be tragedies. It’s just as important to give the successes in your life the same amount of attention that you give your failures.

When situations shake you to your core, you must get help in dealing with these emotions. If the tricks above don’t help you process things, then get the use of a counselor who is well trained in cognitive behavioral therapy CBT or dialectical behavior therapy DBT. The important thing is to get these feelings from the inside out to have a happy and positive life.
