It could be reading a favorite book, listening to a favorite song, or cuddling with a beloved stuffed animal. The goal is to provide them with tools and strategies that they can use to self-soothe and regulate their emotions.

  2. Validate the Emotion: Let your child know it’s okay to feel like they do. You might say, “It’s okay to feel frustrated. Everyone feels that way sometimes.”
